Q: Who is this person calling itself "Mark Probert"? Is that its
authentic
name or is it a nom de plume?
A: I can't really tell you if it is its real name or not, but there
can be
no question that Probert is the consummate, residential "crack-pot"
who
takes glee in constantly going after those who do not or will not
agree
with it. It usually posts elaborate, bombastic sermons against anyone
who
thinks that ADD may be over-diagnosed or that certain medication may
be
over-prescribed. Probert's usual technique is to call any opinion
outside
of its own a "conspiracy" or a "plot by the psychological
establishment"
run by "the drug manufacturers" who are in league with the
"money-changers" and the "teachers Union", etc. Suffice it to say that
it
seldom comes up with an acceptable counter-argument.
Q: Is it a real crack-pot?
A: Yes. It has threatened Dr. Frager's System Administrator and
encourages
others to shout out and ridicule Dr. Frager's opinions. It has
convinced
its so-called peers to also write to Dr. Frager's server with the
intent
to try and intimidate him into cutting off Dr. Frager's access. At
this
time, Dr. Frager's System Administrator still believes in the Freedom
of
Information and the American Constitution and will not be harassed by
these "thugs" and "two-bit hoodlums!"
Q: Is its point of view valid?
A: Who knows and who cares? It has alienated more people than we can
count, including those information-seeking souls that have posted here
occasionally. The only ones left who defend it are the hard-core
fanatics
that seem to get a cheap thrill over its rantings.
Q: Okay. Can you give me an example of who Mr. or Ms. Probert has
alienated?
A: Yes. How about Humanitarian-Author, Mr. Tim Brown. Let's look at
the
opinions of Mr. Tim Brown:

Q: Pretty strong stuff, I mean e-mailing the same mail 10 times, and
constantly posting the same message. It would appear that the label
"crack-pot" is valid.
A: Agreed.
Q: Why does it seem to criticize certain people and ignore others?
A: A very excellent question. Its usual technique is to first
embarrass or
humiliate the person out of the newsgroup. If that doesn't work, the
heat
is turned up tremendously. Then the writer is cornered from all sides
in
the hope that they will leave. Then comes the full-frontal assault,
which
includes multiple e-mails (see above), writing the person's System
Administrator (also see above), harassment, threats, and intimidation.
Finally come the canceled posts and the phony posts written under the
user's name. This "slash and burn" technique had been totally
successful
until Dr. Frager put a stop to it. Luckily for all those, Mr. Tim
Brown
also has taken a high moral stand against intolerance and refuses to
be
exiled to the moral equivalent of the Gulag!
Q: Does it criticize parents, children and teachers?
A: Yes! If someone does not follow the dictates of Western Corporate
Medicine or has side-effects not written in a Medical Book, then it
will
go on the offensive and criticize anyone, anywhere, anyhow!
Q: How do I verify this?
A: Like you would verify any data; "Do your own research." You may
want to
use the tools of Deja News or Alta Vista.
Q: I heard Dr. Frager tried to offer an olive-branch to Mr. or Ms.
Probert
but it refused.
A: Sadly, yes. Mr. or Ms. Probert is not able to get its act together
enough....
